Alstef Group has been selected to modernize the baggage handling system at Nadi International Airport, Fiji's main international hub, operated by Airports Fiji Limited (Fiji Airports).
In 2024, Nadi International Airport welcomed 2.9 million passengers, confirming Fiji Airports' ambition to become the Pacific's leading air hub.
The project includes the following elements:
- Modernization of 33 dual check-in counters. This design increases throughput and improves passenger traffic flow during peak periods.
- Installation of a new baggage screening line equipped with Standard 3 to enhance the security and efficiency of the system.
- Addition of a new large sorting carousel that significantly increases capacity and operational flexibility.
These improvements will provide a more reliable and efficient baggage system, reduce congestion and manual handling, and future-proof airport operations.
“With this project, we are integrating state-of-the-art technologies that will significantly improve airport operations, streamline passenger movement, and position Nadi International Airport for future growth,” said Mesake Nawari, CEO of Fiji Airports.
"We are proud to support Fiji Airports in achieving this critical milestone," said Arnaud Bouquet, Regional Sales Manager at Alstef Group. "This upgrade is about delivering the additional capacity and resilience Nadi International Airport needs to keep pace with rising passenger numbers well into the future."
Alstef Group looks forward to partnering with Fiji Airports on this strategic project, supporting Nadi International Airport with reliable systems that enhance safety and deliver a smooth passenger journey.
