Alstef Group’s Commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility:
Leading the Way to a Sustainable Future
Our commitment
At Alstef Group, sustainability is more than just a buzzword; it’s a core value integrated into all our operations. Our Group Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Strategy, built on a comprehensive Five Pillar framework, highlights our dedication to responsible business practices. Central to this strategy is our Responsible Offer CSR Pillar, where we promote sustainable and ethical offerings to our customers.
We foster partnerships built on trust, emphasizing ethical business practices and mutual respect with our customers, suppliers, and partners. Our commitment to environmental conservation is evident in our efforts to optimize energy usage, reduce raw material consumption, and implement waste reduction strategies. Through our Responsible Purchasing framework, we prioritize eco-friendly practices and support local economies by partnering with local suppliers to boost community development and economic growth.
Our social commitments are unwavering, as we uphold human rights and ethical labor practices, and enforce a strict Supplier Code of Ethics to ensure transparency and integrity. We actively combat climate change by reducing our carbon footprint, promoting sustainable mobility, and implementing comprehensive water management strategies to reduce water usage by 10% by 2030. Energy efficiency and renewable energy adoption are also key focus areas, with significant investments in these technologies to transition to cleaner alternatives.
In the realm of social issues, we prioritize the health, safety, and well-being of our employees. We strive for zero accidents through rigorous safety measures, and support mental health through training programs and counseling services. Our commitment to diversity and inclusion is evident through initiatives led by local Disability Advisors and our global gender equality policies.
Our societal impact extends beyond our organization, engaging with local communities and supporting global initiatives. We prioritize local engagement, sponsor various causes, and support civil society organizations through volunteer programs. By nurturing young talent and supporting educational initiatives, we contribute to the development of future professionals.
Finally, our Ethics and Governance pillar ensures that we uphold the highest standards of integrity. Our anti-corruption code of conduct, comprehensive training programs, and Ethics Committee oversee compliance and foster a culture of ethical conduct. We empower employees to raise concerns through a professional whistleblowing mechanism and prioritize data protection and privacy to safeguard stakeholder information.
At Alstef Group, our CSR commitments are not just principles but actions aimed at making a meaningful difference in the world. Join us in our journey towards a sustainable and socially responsible future.

Eco-Design & Sustainability
MOTOR OPTIOMISATION - WAVE CONCEPT

Alstef Group installs IE3 motors at its customers’ sites and offers energy class IE4 or IE5 motors as an option.
These motors deliver considerable energy savings and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. They also have a longer service life and lower maintenance costs.
SUSTAINABLE LINERLESS LABEL APPLICATION

Energy recovery systems

SYSTEMS BASED SUPERCAPACITORS
Installed on our stacker cranes, supercapacitors reduce overall power consumption by 20%. Peak consumption during the acceleration phase is smoothed by capacitors, significantly reducing the required power supply.
ENERGY RECOVERY ON STORAGE AGVS
Our storage AGVs are equipped with an energy recovery system. The GT16 model, dedicated to storage in very narrow aisles of up to 12 meters, takes advantage of the energy released during deceleration or braking. During lifting, the hydraulic power pack adjusts torque or current in real time, depending on the speed or control required.
Management intelligence and flow optimization

Eco-design of our systems

DID YOU KNOW: We replace linear motor carousels with friction-driven carousels, which consume less energy. This means that the same carousel consumes half as much energy in terms of installed power as a linear or friction-driven solution.
WASTE RECOVERY FOR END-OF-LIFE EQUIPMENT
An analysis of optimal waste recovery is carried out in the pre-project phase for the end-of-life of our equipment and planned for during the project execution.

DID YOU KNOW: On the Roissy CDG T2B airport facility, the percentage of waste recovery was estimated to be 94% during the installation phase.
OPTIMISING FREIGHT TRANSPORT
We optimise truck and container loads and obtain the CO2 emissions generated during transport from our service providers as part of our carbon offset programme.

Environmental Issues
CARBON FOOTPRINT ANALYSIS
In 2023, we decided to conduct a carbon footprint analysis in three out of four of our Excellence Centers: Alstef Automation*, Alstef Mobile Robotics* and Alstef New Zealand.
In 2024, Solution Net Systems (USA), will also undergo a carbon footprint analysis so that 100% of our Excellence Centers are assessed.
Undertaking this initiative aligns with our values of transparency and accountability to our stakeholders, including shareholders, employees, suppliers, and customers. By voluntarily measuring our carbon footprint, we not only demonstrate our proactive approach to mitigating climate change but also position ourselves at the forefront of sustainability leadership within our industry.
Anticipating future regulatory requirements, we seek to stay ahead of the curve, implementing sustainable practices that not only benefit the environment but also contribute to our long-term business resilience and competitiveness. Ultimately, conducting a carbon footprint reinforces our dedication to fostering a healthier planet and leaves a lasting legacy of responsible corporate citizenship.
By understanding and quantifying our greenhouse gas emissions, we gained crucial insights into our environmental impact and identified areas where we can make meaningful reductions. This allowed us to set up a dedicated decarbonization action plan for subsidiaries which conducted a carbon footprint analysis.
WASTE MANAGEMENT
At the end of its useful life, Alstef Group undertakes to give functional equipment a second life by reusing it internally within the organization or externally, by donating it wherever possible. In the case of non-functional equipment, the aim is to ensure that it is processed and recycled. To do this, Alstef Group establishes partnerships with local companies. Alstef Group thus set up a comprehensive life cycle for computers within its French subsidiaries.
To optimize the longevity of our computers, each system is designated for use by our interns and work-study students, thereby extending its operational lifespan within our company to a remarkable 7 years. Then, functioning computers are graciously donated to our employees and associations, ensuring they continue to serve a purpose. Should a computer cease to function, we responsibly channel it towards ENVIE, a French company whose mission focuses on professional integration, the circular economy, and local job creation and specializes in
the reconditioning of electronic equipment. If a computer cannot be repaired, we leverage our partnership with PAPREC, an expert in the recycling of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE). This collaboration ensures that every component of the computer is responsibly recycled, minimizing environmental impact and promoting sustainable practices.
PREVENTION AND REDUCTION OF POLLUTION (WATER, AIR, SOIL)
We acknowledge that soil and water pollution can potentially arise from accidental environmental incidents, such as hydraulic cable ruptures on mobile lifting platforms. To mitigate these risks, we have established rigorous intervention procedures tailored to each site, taking into account specific environmental constraints. Additionally, we ensure that emergency numbers are readily available for swift response in case of any environmental emergencies.
For instance, in France, as part of our proactive approach, we deploy absorbent kits to swiftly contain and manage accidental spillages, minimizing their environmental impact. In many subsidiaries, we installed electric vehicle charging stations to encourage employees to use this type of vehicle. Alstef Group’s headquarters has set up a contract with its preferred rental company to prioritize low C02 emission vehicles
PROTECTION OF THE ENVIRONMENT AND BIODIVERSITY
Alstef Group is committed to contributing to the protection of the environment and biodiversity.
The company decided to build its actions around the Ecosystem Services, which refer to the benefits that humans obtain from natural ecosystems.
Bees play a hugely important role in our ecosystem but our dear foragers are under threat. For several years, honey production has been on the decline. Alstef Group has therefore chosen to install beehives on 75% of its Excellence Centers by 2024 and encourage pollination. By taking action for biodiversity in favor of bees, in an environment that favors the development
of fauna and flora, we wish to contribute to environmental sustainability. The first beehives were set up in Orléans, France in 2019, followed by New Zealand in 2023 and in Rennes, France in 2024.
Social Issues
EMPLOYEE HEALTH AND SAFETY
At Alstef Group, we recognize that our employees are our most valuable asset. Their wellbeing, both physical and mental, is paramount to our success and a shared responsibility. We are committed to fostering a work environment that actively promotes a high level of health and safety, allowing each individual to thrive.
RISK ANALYSIS AND PREVENTION MEASURES
Most subsidiaries regularly update their Occupational Risk Assessment Document or risk analysis. It is updated at least once a year and based on the life cycle of the subsidiaries’ products and services. It takes into account both risks and opportunities in terms of health and safety at work. In France the process for updating the risk assessment involves a safety comitee including employee representatives. New employees undergo Quality, Health, Safety and Environment training/awareness-raising within the company.
Alstef Group no longer uses any CMR chemicals (Carcinogenic, Mutagenic and Reprotroxic). The company has removed all such products from its site references. The only chemical products used are degreasing agents, degreasers, oils, glues and paints, which are studied and monitored in conjuction with the occupational health department. The company asks its chemical suppliers to comply with the regulation (for instance the REACH directive if applicable). Alstef Group buys just the right quantity of chemical products for the site.
EMPLOYEE WELL-BEING
Alstef Group allocates personal protective equipment to each of its employees so that they can work safely on site. This includes permanent equipment such as safety shoes, work clothes, high-cut and puncture-resistant gloves, helmets and hard hats, as well as specialised equipment.
At the heart of our commitment lies a steadfast focus on fostering optimal working conditions and prioritizing the well-being of our invaluable workforce. As we embark on this journey, we not only recognize the intrinsic value of creating a supportive and enriching work environment but also acknowledge the profound impact it has on our employees’ lives
As part of our ongoing commitment to improving the work environment and employee well-being, our company is implementing a significant Great Place To Work satisfaction survey. Scheduled to be conducted every two years, this survey aims to assess various aspects of our organization, including corporate culture, human resources policies, professional development opportunities, and other key areas.
One significant feature of this survey is its inclusive nature, with the participation of all employees of the company. Whether it’s frontline operational staff, technical experts in our offices, or senior executives, every voice will have the opportunity to be heard and contribute to the development of recommendations for the continuous improvement of our company.
Promoting the Quality of Life at Work
At the core of Alstef Group’s vibrant community are our valued employees, and we take great pride in placing them at the forefront of our organizational life. Throughout the year, we prioritize the celebration of our achievements and orchestrate a diverse range of events around the world, including festive events, workshops, and spirited sports activities.
This deliberate curation of events serves as more than just a celebration; it constitutes a commitment to enhancing well-being in the workplace and engaging collectively in initiatives that support local and environmental causes. Each meticulously planned event not only provides unique and memorable experiences for every participant but also plays a pivotal role in fortifying team cohesion. This approach underscores our dedication to fostering a dynamic, inclusive, and interconnected work environment that goes beyond traditional corporate norms, creating a sense of belonging and shared purpose among our team members.
Fostering Work Life Balance
In recognition of the evolving nature of work and the changing expectations of our workforce, our company is committed to fostering a healthy work-life balance for our employees. As early as 2019, the Group has embraced a common remote work policy with a maximum of two days per week as a means to uphold and strengthen team spirit in real life. By encouraging regular in-person interactions, the policy fosters a sense of camaraderie and collaboration among team members, ultimately enhancing productivity and innovation. The company also remains committed to flexibility, recognizing that individual circumstances may require tailored arrangements and contributing to a positive and inclusive work environment. Since then, each subsidiary is starting to join this common policy that underscores our dedication to promoting flexibility and well-being among our team members with common global rules for everyone within the Group.
The decision to embrace remote work is rooted in our commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive work environment that empowers our employees to manage their professional responsibilities while also attending to personal and family needs. By embracing remote work, we aim to enhance job satisfaction, boost productivity, and reduce the environmental impact associated with commuting, aligning our operational practices with the principles of sustainability and employee-centricity
Equal Opportunity Employment and Apprenticeships
Diversity and inclusion are foundational principles at our company, woven into the fabric of our culture and operations. We are committed to fostering a workplace where individuals of all sexes, ages, abilities, and nationalities are valued and respected. Embracing diverse perspectives and experiences not only enriches our work environment but also drives innovation and creativity. We actively promote equal opportunities for each and every employee, ensuring that every individual has the support and resources they need to succeed.
Alstef Group is committed to equal opportunity employment with a dedicated charter to ensure there is no discrimination in our HR practices. We also have a dedicated focus on ensuring employee satisfaction, measure through an annual benchmarking survey, and maintained through initiatives generated from survey responses.
Alstef Group employs on average, over 40 apprentices each year and as a global business, offers a wide variety of travel and training opportunities.

Ethics and Governance
Supplier Code of Ethics
Customer Focus, innovation, know-how, commitment, and team spirit are part of our core values. Alstef Group consequently asks its suppliers to be part of this process by signing our Supplier Code of Ethics.
This Code of Ethics is a formal statement of our desire to share our values and our ethical commitment with our suppliers. The success of the code of ethics depends on its implementation by Alstef Group’s Suppliers and on cooperation, mutual trust and respect between Alstef Group and its Suppliers. This Code of Ethics relies on key commitments for all stakeholders.
Anti-corruption and Transparency
We are committed to ethical business conduct, and we place great importance on ensuring that all our actions are carried out with integrity. This means for every employee of Alstef Group, not only to demonstrate impeccable behavior, but also to participate in the anti-corruption measures within the scope of their activities.
In this regard, Alstef Group considers the fight against corruption and influence peddling in all its activities to be of the upmost importance, both for the sustainability of the Group and for our corporate social responsibility, which we take to heart.
Alstef Group thus implemented a professional whistleblowing mechanism to enhance the means of expression for all employees and stakeholders, enabling them to report any conduct or situations contrary to the law or to Alstef Group’s Ethical Charter.
